Re: GREAT SEASON
Our result today was disappointing and our performance last week against Swansea was disappointing.

Our season has exceeded our expectations.

Just think on 28 December we beat Southampton and were on 29 points after 19 games. in our next 19 games we got 33 points.

A word here for Southampton because in their last 19 games they scored 39 points. great management by Koeman who has scored 60 or more PL points in consecutive PL seasons.

Re: GREAT SEASON
I think that a mod should retitle this thread as: DECENT SEASON.

Leicester City have had the BESTEST SEASON EVER WEVER and Southampton have had a GREAT SEASON for a club of their standing.

A great season for us would've been top-six and winning the FA Cup finally (again) - which were both very much on a month or so ago.

Getting so upset about the Europa I'd forgotten that. What an opportunity that was.

Re: GREAT SEASON
Baggies - I thought 8th this season would be good but in the context to what happened I can't help feeling disappointed with our finish, much like Spurs must feel despite 3rd place and CL qualification.

Not ignoring the obvious improvements and progress though. We should all feel delighted with the direction the club are going and can be excited for next season.

Great season.

Disappointing because we were conned out of roughly 8 points by rubbish reffing.

Re: GREAT SEASON
Great season. We were so close to glory. Just imagine if we had turned up against Swansea and beaten Stoke today. Those 6 points would put us in the Champions League.
If Sully can pull off some quality transfers then we will be in a fantastic position for next season when we kick off in the OS.

Re: GREAT SEASON
This season would do me fine every year to be honest, just on the odd occasion get the rub of the green on some decisions. If we could have had a joker card to play and change 1 result/ref decision this season it would be the game at Old Trafford in the FAcup to have made it an unbelievable season for us.

Was thinking we would fight it out near the bottom half due to so many changes in both backroom staff and team formation.

Re: GREAT SEASON
Face - Thats the thing....they've edged us out but had to win four games on the bounce to do so, including Man City and Spurs away.

People need to remember what their expectations were at the start of the season. Its been a terrific year imo.

Southampton were just clinical when needed and didn't piss away loads of chances. Won their last 4 matches scoring 14 goals.

Re: GREAT SEASON
We're still a tad short on quality.

I expect us to spend more than most this summer to try and push us on further.

No disrespect to the likes of Southampton but we should be finishing above these sort of clubs from next season onwards.

Re: GREAT SEASON
It's been an amazing season in so many ways and highly entertaining too - which is what we wished for, despite being advised to be careful with that!

Bilic has been outstanding and a breath of fresh air and is responsible for the obvious team spirit among the squad. The bloke just oozes class and commands respect.

We've had so many players who have had stunning seasons. Payet is the obvious one, closely followed by the likes of Antonio, Kouyate and Noble. Collins has been brilliant at the back and Cresswell has shown his worth once more.

The fact that we finished 7th despite having such a great season should be enough of a warning that we need to continue to improve and sign a top drawer striker. A really top drawer striker.

A Man Utd win in the cup will give us a fully deserved place in the Europa League and I think we should have the strength in depth next season to give that a real go, if we qualify. Not qualifying wouldn't be the end of the world though. Disappointing but not devastating.

This summer is going to be huge. If we get the recruitment right yet again then it could be more if the same next season. As for this season, it was pretty much perfection if we're being realistic. If we're talking slight fantasy, but not overly, we could and possibly should be sat in the top four right now and looking forward to being the favourites in the cup final.

A disappointing end to the season today but on reflection it's been fantastic and we have loads to look forward to.

Farewell to the Boleyn and thanks for the many many great memories.

Come on you irons! ⚒

Re: GREAT SEASON
I don't know how Southampton do it.

They sell their best players every year. None of them seem to want to stay there and they virtually have a new team every season - and they've qualified for Europe again.

And they still struggle to sell-out their ground... Bizarrely.

Not exciting to watch though.

mex, ignore the cunt. if he'd had his way we wouldn't have signed payet

Re: GREAT SEASON
Entertainment value 9/10
Bilic 8/10
Strongest eleven when available 7/10
Weakest members of squad 5/10

So get the cheque book out S and G and get some class additions in.
